Summary

The holder of this position will be crucial in managing surveying activities and utilizing advanced equipment and software like Civil CAD to support property development projects. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, significant experience in infrastructure project management, a strong background in surveying techniques and equipment operation, and a proven track record of working on property development projects. Additionally, the candidate must possess excellent problem-solving skills to identify challenges, propose solutions, and resolve issues amicably.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Property Development Project Management:
    Manage surveying activities for property development projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
    Collaborate with the property development team, architects, and contractors to integrate surveying requirements into the overall project plan.
    Conduct site visits to assess feasibility, identify potential challenges, and propose solutions to support the property development process.
    Utilize problem-solving skills to address any issues that may arise during the project, seeking amicable resolutions.
  2. Surveying and Contour Plan Design:
    Utilize survey equipment, such as total stations, GPS receivers, and 3D laser scanners, to conduct accurate measurements and collect data related to topography, boundaries, and existing structures.
    Analyze survey data and utilize specialized software, including Civil CAD software, to generate precise contour plans in both 2D and 3D formats.
    Collaborate with architects and engineers to incorporate survey data into property development designs and plans, ensuring accurate positioning and alignment.
    Employ problem-solving techniques to overcome any challenges encountered during the surveying and contour plan design process.
  3. Data Analysis and Reporting:
    Process and analyze survey data using advanced software tools, including Civil CAD software, to identify patterns, trends, and potential issues related to the property development project.
    Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation of survey findings, including technical drawings, charts, and graphical representations.
    Communicate survey results to the property development team and stakeholders, providing clear explanations, recommendations, and addressing any concerns or queries.
    Utilize problem-solving skills to propose alternative solutions or modifications when data analysis reveals potential issues or discrepancies.
  4. Equipment Maintenance and Calibration:
    Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of survey equipment to guarantee accurate measurements and reliable performance.
    Coordinate equipment repairs or replacements as needed, minimizing downtime and disruptions to surveying activities. Stay updated with the latest advancements in surveying technology and recommend equipment upgrades to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
    Apply problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot equipment issues and find suitable solutions.
  5. Regulatory Compliance:
    Ensure compliance with relevant surveying regulations, codes, and standards in property development projects.
    Stay informed about local zoning regulations, land surveying laws, and environmental requirements to ensure adherence during the surveying process.
    Collaborate with legal and regulatory bodies, as necessary, to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
    Utilize problem-solving skills to navigate regulatory challenges and propose compliant solutions.Job RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
    Proven experience as a Surveying Engineer, with a focus on civil infrastructure projects. Strong knowledge of land surveying principles, techniques, and equipment.
    Proficiency in using surveying software, such as CAD and GIS applications.
    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate and reliable survey data.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
Project management abilities, including the capacity to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and meet project deadlines. Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to land surveying.
Professional licensure or certification as a Land Surveyor is preferred.

Additional Information

Ability to work in outdoor environments and adverse weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
Physical fitness and endurance to conduct field surveys, including walking long distances, climbing, and carrying equipment. Ability to lift and transport surveying equipment and tools.

Working Environment

Work in both field and office settings. Fieldwork involves conducting land surveys and data collection on-site, which may require travel to various locations. The work environment may include exposure to varying temperatures, rugged terrains, and other environmental factors.

Travel Requirement

The position may require travel to project sites, client meetings, and occasional overnight stays. Travel frequency and duration will vary depending on project demands.
